Welcome Resh Sohota

resh

We are delighted to welcome Resh Sohota to our List.

Resh is a Family Law barrister from the UK, having been called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2012. During that time, he was regularly instructed to appear at directions hearings, interim hearings and multi-day final hearings. Resh has also appeared in appeals and in the High Court.

Resh’s practice in the UK was predominately Family Law based with a focus on high conflict parenting and property matters, which often involved issues such as family violence. He also has a particular interest in relocation and child abduction matters.

Following his call to the Victorian Bar, Resh practices Family Law in both the English and Australian jurisdictions. He accepts briefs in all areas of Family Law in Australia, to appear at all stages of proceedings including directions hearings, dispute resolution events, interim hearings, trials and appeals.

In addition to his work in the Family Law sphere, Resh also has an interest in sports law and regulation. In 2020, he was appointed by the Football Association to hear and determine matters relating to sporting misconduct. He has been reappointed each season since and regularly sits in such matters.

Resh is a member of the Family Law Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.

Resh’s mentor is Rory McIvor.

Please join us in welcoming Resh to our List.
