Head Clerk, Paul Holmes started the List in 1992 and he remains the sole owner. Paul has more than 30 years’ experience as a Barristers’ Clerk. Additionally, he is fortunate to have four very capable and experienced Assistant Clerks headed by Senior Assistant, Paul Rees. The clerking team are able to assist with any inquiry which may arise. The List commenced with approximately 30 members of Counsel and today sits comfortably around the 200 member mark.

Paul commenced as a clerk of the court for nearly ten years at various Courts around the State of Victoria. He has intimate knowledge of both the administration of the Courts, Boards and Regulatory Bodies in Victoria,

Paul understands the expertise of the Barristers on his list. Every endeavour is made to ensure the correct advice as to the appropriate Counsel is given.

Paul has worked as a Barristers’ Clerk since 2008. His role requires management of office staff as well as providing support and diary management for the 200 barristers on Holmes List.

Having extensive practice knowledge of the barristers he represents allows Paul to liaise with solicitors to help match them with the best choice of representation for each matter.

Paul is dedicated to providing advice, opportunities, and support (professionally and personally) to barristers throughout their career. He is proud to be part of a list held in such high regard.

Away from work he enjoys spending time with his young family and their destructive Labrador pup Daisy.

Mark has over 30 years’ of experience as a Barristers’ Clerk.

He sees the depth of experience amongst the Barristers on the list as a real strength, especially in Family Law, Crime and Intervention Orders.

The full range of experience and fees are covered, which gives those briefing the list considerable options.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys spending time with family and friends, tackling DIY projects, or watching his beloved North Melbourne.

Lauren’s career trajectory allowed her to have intimate knowledge of every aspect of the Holmes List operation. At age 18 she commenced as a receptionist at Holmes List. She then progressed to become a personal assistant to ten of the List’s Barristers.

Now, as an Assistant Clerk, Lauren is proud to continue working for a list that is not only highly sought after but is well respected. She believes that Holmes List’s success is due to the personal nature of the service and the sensational relationship shared between staff, barristers, and solicitors.

Bailee commenced with Holmes List in 2018, assisting in the accounts department. Her time in accounts allowed her to develop strong relationships with list members and those briefing our list.

Highly organised and hardworking, Bailee joined the clerking team in December 2019. Alongside her duties as a clerk, she is also responsible for the Holmes List online marketing through social media, and major event planning.

Outside of work she enjoys cheering on the Mighty Saints.

KYLANI CZARNECKI

Kylani joined our team in July 2022. Previously having worked as a Clerk of Courts at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court. She has proven to be an asset to our team with her friendly demeanour and willingness to assist when required.

Aside from work, Kylani is in her second year of studying a double degree in psychology and criminology with a major in law.

Away from work and study Kylani loves to read, is a massive lover of good movies, and is always up for a good game of any sport.
