Deborah graduated from Melbourne University and complted a Masters of Law at Monash. She practices in the area of Family Law in the Federal Circuit and Family Courts in all areas but with an emphasis on children’s matters. She has appeared in many Magellan cases for parties as well as for the ICL.
She is a mediator and has also appeared in many intervention orders and stalking cases and has published widely and spoken at conferences in that area.
Outside of the Bar she was Chair of the now closed Jewish Taskforce Against Family Violence and has written many articles, spoken at conferences and been on radio in relation to issues of Family Violence. She is also a member of UnchainMyHeart which is a support and educative group in relation to gett (Jewish divorce) refusal.
She was on the Board of ToBeLoved which educates about the impact of divorce and conflict on children.
She was previously a member of the southern metropolitan region of the Regional advisory Council of the Victorian Multicultural Commission and was on a government advisory committee regarding the identification of now deceased victims of sexual assault/abuse.
Outside of the law she likes to travel and learn languages.
