Phil commenced practice at the Victorian Bar following several years work in Criminal Law. He has also worked in Major Torts personal injuries litigation, where his medical training and background proved invaluable.

He has appeared in all Criminal Law jurisdictions, including County and Supreme Court Appeals.

He has a special interest in Domestic Animals Act matters, and has been involved in several high profile cases involving dog attacks, including matters in the Supreme Court of Victoria.

He has maintained an interest in aviation for many years and holds an Australian Flight Crew Licence.
