Peter graduated from Monash University B.Juris (1969) and LLB (1971) and first signed the Roll of Counsel in 1975.  With a diverse practice in his first five years, he then specialised in family law and de facto relationship cases, primarily in the larger property, financial and commercial matters.

Peter was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1997 and conducted a substantial practice until his appointment as a Family Court Judge in mid- 2002.  He served almost eleven years on the Bench until his resignation in May 2013.

He now practises as a King’s Counsel, conducting family law mediations and settlement conferences.

Peter has extensive community and sporting interests and positions.  He is a Deputy Chancellor of Monash University, and is Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee, and a member of The Selection and Remuneration and the Honorary Degree Committees of Monash University.

Peter is a former Chairman of the Melbourne Racing Club.  He was a Government appointee to the Victorian Thoroughbred Racing Integrity Council and for 5 years (2013- 2018) was a member of the Epworth Hospital Ethics and Medical Research Committee.

Peter, in his role as a Deputy Chancellor of Monash University, is experienced in chairing and participating in conferences and meetings via electronic means, primarily Zoom.

He is available to conduct electronic mediations via Zoom.
