Peta is an experienced advocate and appears in a broad range of criminal matters, across all jurisidictions. She has extensive experience in complex indictable crime, particularly serious drug matters and violent offences. Peta is a Victoria Legal Aid Criminal Trial Preferred Barrister and has earned the Indictable Crime Certificate.
Peta is briefed to advise and appear in regulatory criminal proceedings, both prosecuting and defending, statutory offences brought by various government agencies including WorkSafe, Councils and the Victorian Building Authority.
In family law, Peta regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia in relation to parenting and property proceedings. Peta appears in both final and interm defended hearings and in mediations on behalf of an individual party.
Prior to coming to the bar, Peta practised as a criminal defence solicitor appearing in both summary and indictable matters.
In 2014 Peta co-founded Women In Crime, the leading professional network of female criminal lawyers in Victoria. She is also a member of the Holmes List Committee.
