Nikolas practises principally in criminal law and accepts briefs to advise and appear in criminal and quasi-criminal matters in courts across metropolitan and regional Victoria.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Nikolas practised as a solicitor advocate at Chester Metcalfe & Co, where he appeared regularly in the Magistrates’ Court in pleas, bail applications and breach proceedings. He also appeared in the County Court on pleas and appeals against sentence. Nikolas has experience appearing in the Children’s Court and in the Therapeutic Courts, including the Drug Court.

Nikolas accepts briefs in all stages of criminal proceedings, including contested hearings, committal proceedings, pleas and trials.

Nikolas was an associate to Her Honour Judge Gwynn in the Criminal Division of the County Court of Victoria. During this time, he was exposed to a wide range of criminal proceedings, including trials, plea hearings, bail applications and appeals.

In addition to criminal law, Nikolas accepts briefs to advise and appear in family law, administrative law, and employment and industrial law.

Nikolas is a member of the Criminal Bar Association.
