Michael was admitted to the Bar in 1994. He practices principally in the areas of Criminal Law, Family Law, Crimes Family Violence, Crimes Compensation and Civil Litigation.
Michael has appeared in Criminal Trials in Melbourne and throughout Regional Victoria including Mildura, Horsham, Bendigo, Ballarat, Hamilton, Shepparton, Warrnambool and Wodonga. He has also appeared in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
His Family Law practice covers all areas of Family Law and he has appeared in NSW and SA.
Prior to coming to the Bar Michael was articled to Alan Faulkner of Alan Faulkner and Co. and practiced as a Civil Litigation Lawyer. In 1993 he travelled extensively throughout Nepal and Africa and returned and made the decision to go to the Bar where he read with Bruce Walmsley SC.
In 2012 Michael completed the Legal Services Board workshop in relation to Advancing best practice in sexual offence cases.
In 2016 he was amongst the first group of Barristers to obtain the Indictable Crime Certificate. He is listed on the VLA preferred Barrister list for indictable crime.
