Katie is an experienced defence advocate who accepts briefs in all areas of criminal law and quasi-criminal law across metropolitan and regional courts. 

Katie appears in a broad range of matters across the summary and indictable jurisdictions including contested hearings, committals, bail applications, appeals, contravention proceedings and plea hearings in the Magistrates’, Children’s, County and Supreme Courts. She also appears in the Koori and Drug Court divisions of the Magistrates’ and County Court.

She has appeared as Junior Counsel in County and Supreme Court Trials and was selected as a participant Victoria Legal Aid’s Trial Counsel Development Program in 2024/2025.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Katie practiced as a Senior Lawyer at Victoria Legal Aid, where she appeared in court daily, and maintained a high case load of summary and indictable matters. She commenced her career at VLA’s Ringwood office in 2014 before moving into the Advocacy Team in the Criminal Law Melbourne division, where she was based from 2016-2020.
