Dylan appears regularly as defence counsel in criminal and quasi-crime matters. In the Magistrates’ Court, he is regularly briefed in contested hearings, including committal proceedings. He also appears regularly in the Children’s and County Court. Dylan also appears in intervention order matters.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Dylan was an Associate to Her Honour Judge Nola Karapanagiotidis at the County Court of Victoria. He also worked as a solicitor at a criminal defence firm. 

Outside of the Bar, Dylan lectures at the University of Melbourne, and he is also holds a Master of Laws from the Australian National University, specialising in Human Security Law and International Law. He completed a dissertation titled: ‘An analysis and critique of the Australian approach to removing refugees who have committed criminal offences’.

Dylan has volunteer experience with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and various community legal centres. He regularly works interstate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander legal services including the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA), and the Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia (ALSWA).
