David accepts briefs in all areas of family law, as well as in civil and commercial litigation and summary crime, including intervention order matters.
Before being called to the Bar, David was a senior solicitor at a firm specialising in family law and appeared frequently as a solicitor-advocate in interim and final hearings before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria.
David also practised as a solicitor at a generalist practice and has conducted matters across a wide range of practice areas, including but not limited to contractual, real property and leasing disputes, guardianship and unfair dismissal applications, breaches of directors’ duties, and summary crime.
David holds a Master’s degree in Applied Law (majoring in family law and commercial litigation) and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.
David was formerly a member of the LIV Family Law Section’s Property and Maintenance Committee and an editor of the ‘Computers and the Law’ journal of the Victorian Society of Computers and the Law. He volunteered as a solicitor at WestJustice’s night service for a period of approximately three years.
