Cameron came to the Bar in 2018 after being admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2013 and practices in Intervention Orders, Crime and Traffic Law.
Cameron is highly experienced in all matters relating to Intervention Orders – under both the Family Violence Protection Act and Personal Safety Intervention Orders Act for Applicants and Respondents.
He has a strength in negotiating conditions to achieve the best outcome for his clients and extensive experience in contested hearings.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Cameron was a prosecutor with Victoria Police for 8 years where he prosecuted Intervention Orders, plus crime and traffic on behalf of the police. This has given him valuable insight and understanding of the police processes and how best to proceed when police are involved in your Intervention Order matter.
He also practises in criminal and quasi-criminal matters for summary and indictable matters, including pleas, contest mentions, summary hearings, bail applications and committal hearings. This also includes defending breaches of Intervention Orders.
Cameron appears daily in Metropolitan and Regional Courts. He splits his practice between Metro and North East Regional Victoria and particularly welcomes briefs at the Courts along the Hume Hwy (and surrounds) between Seymour and Wodonga, where clients can save on travel and accommodation fees.
Cameron read with Mr Pardeep Tiwana (now County Court Judge Tiwana) and his senior mentor is Mr Patrick Tehan KC.
