Andreia is an experienced barrister and Nationally Accredited Mediator, accepting briefs to appear and advise on all matters involving Family Law, De Facto jurisdictions, and Intervention Orders.
Before signing the Bar Roll in 2018, Andreia was a Senior Lawyer in both the private and community sectors, regularly appearing as a solicitor advocate in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, the Magistrates’ Court, and the Children’s Court (family division).
She has extensive experience in complex parenting matters, including cases involving family violence, relocation, drug use, overseas travel, neurodiversity in children, and sexual abuse allegations. Andreia frequently represents Independent Children’s Lawyers, having participated in training with the National Legal Aid Independent Children’s Lawyer Training Centre, and has also appeared on behalf of non-parents (such as grandparents and extended family members) and as amicus curiae for the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
Andreia also has a strong background in financial and property matters, including cases involving third-party and equitable interests, business structures, and spousal maintenance. She has helped many clients with small to moderate asset pools resolve disputes efficiently and is well-versed in court-based Conciliation Conferences.
Beyond her legal practice, Andreia is committed to education and professional development. She has co-facilitated training sessions for the Safer Families Training Course and presented on Property and Family Law, with a focus on family violence and urgent risk matters.
She is an active member of the Family Law Bar Association and the Women’s Barristers’ Association.
