Vassiliki (Vass) Theoharopoulou (BA. LLB.) was admitted to practice in 2000 and signed the Bar Roll in 2008.
Vass has extensive experience in Family Law/Domestic Relationship Law and Intervention Orders.
As Counsel, Vass accepts briefs in relation to Children and Property matters in ALL areas of Family Law/Domestic Relationship Law. Vass accepts briefs in order to appear in Contested/Defended Family Law/Domestic Relationship Law matters at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA), including matters that are on Circuit, she accepts briefs to draft/settle documents and to provide advice including written advice.
She is passionate about obtaining the best results for her clients and has a particular interest in complex property matters in Family Law/Domestic Relationship Law.
Vass is a Nationally Accredited Mediator having received her accreditation from the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators (AIFLAM).
Vass has presented various papers including at the College of Law in regards to Jurisdictional Issues/Cross Boarder Issues in Family Law and also in relation to Gifts and Loans from family members in Family Law at the Fourth Annual Autumn CPD Luncheon held for Family Law solicitors.
Vass is fluent in Modern Greek (written and spoken).
Vass is a Member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, Family Law Bar Association, AIFLAM and Women Barristers Association.
Throughout her career Vass has served as a legal and non-legal volunteer on a number of Committees; this included being a Board Member for Georgina Martina Inc. Women’s Refuge.
Before coming to the Bar, Vass was a Senior Associate in a Specialist Family Law firm where she regularly appeared in Court as a Solicitor Advocate on behalf of her Family Law clients.
Vass has read with Minal Vohra SC and her senior mentor is Martin Bartfeld AM KC.
