Chris practises primarily in criminal law.
Before coming to the Bar, Chris worked as a solicitor at specialist criminal defence firm Chester Metcalfe & Co. As a solicitor he appeared daily in criminal proceedings across Victoria. Chris was also a board member at Youthlaw between 2016 and 2019, and was Secretary of the organisation between 2017 and 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) and Bachelor of International Studies from Deakin University. Chris read with Dr Theo Alexander.
Since coming to the Bar, Chris has expanded his practice. He now both prosecutes and defends in criminal and regulatory proceedings. He accepts briefs to appear across the State, but has specifically developed a regional practice around Ballarat since he commenced residing in the region in 2023.

Chris is a member of the Victorian Bar’s Health and Welbeing Committee, and a member of the Criminal Law and Children’s Court Bar Associations.
Outside of Court, Chris enjoys all aspects of the outdoors. He has hiked extensively, including through the Himalayas and Andes mountain ranges. He is an experienced skier and scuba diver, with advanced certifications in the latter. He enjoys most genres of electronic dance music, particularly drum & bass and house; he mixes as a hobby.
