Summary

 

Has prosecuted and defended numerous homicide cases in the Supreme Court of Victoria.  Has appeared as counsel for clients of the Aboriginal Legal Service in Darwin in Supreme Court trials. Counsel for many years for the applicants in Wotjobaluk v State of Victoria in the Federal Court resulting in the first successful determination of native title in Victoria. Appeared in the High Court on behalf of Victorian applicants in Ward v WA and the Croker Island case. Acted for several environmental activists in the Gunns 20 litigation in the Supreme Court in which Gunns eventually withdrew their claims and paid costs. Acted in many cases concerning logging of native forests in East Gippsland. Experienced in planning and environment cases in VCAT and the Supreme Court.’
