I have been briefed to defend and prosecute in some of the largest, most significant and complex criminal matters in Victoria.

"White Collar" matters:

I have been briefed to defend and prosecute in a number of large "white collar" criminal cases .
I acted for Rueben Lew in relation to the "Estate Mortgage" collapse and subsequent prosecutions. I was briefed in the "Estate Mortgage" committals and trials. I was also briefed to appear in related commercial litigation such as Liquidator and ASC Examinations.
I acted on behalf of Harry Beitzel in relation to complex fraud and theft charges. This involved a series of appearances in the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Supreme Court of Hong Kong and the High Court of New Zealand.
I appeared for David Nicholas in relation to theft and fraud offences.
I prosecuted a Bankruptcy Offences trial for the Commonwealth DPP
I have recently appeared for a Securities Dealer in relation to an ASIC investigation and hearing.
Drug trials
I was briefed by the Commonwealth DPP in the matter of R v Beljajev & Ors. This involved a 6 month committal and was followed by 3 of the largest and most complex series of trials seen in Victoria. The pre trial applications alone resulted in 3 subsubstantial Full Court Appeals and 2 High Court hearings
I was briefed by the DPP (Vic) to advise and prosecute in what at the time was the largest drug trial the state had prosecuted. (R v Malkoun; Gray;Lenco; El Bouche & Ors).
I was briefed by the Commonwealth DPP, in the trial R v Maio in the Supreme Court. The matter accrued great notoriety at the time as it was a drug trial related to the arrest of Barlow & Chambers in Malaysia.

Other notable matters:

I appeared for Julian Knight in relation to the "Hoddle Street" murders
I prosecuted R v Mulvale for the State DPP. This was a trial of member of a religious organization for sexual offences. The circumstances of the trial and the offences gained a high degree of notoriety at the time.
I have been briefed by the Australian Government Solicitor in complex subpoena and public interest immunity questions in relation to R v Grollo and other matters.
I have also been briefed to advise and act in relation to other subpoena and search warrant matters.

I have appeared in a number of large Appeals in both the Supreme Court and the High Court. Some of the cases are as follows:
